This qualification is intended for aspiring internal quality assurers and aims to provide the essential knowledge and understanding that quality assurance staff need and offer additional units to acquire and can demonstrate competent practice.
Programme Goals
This qualification is aimed to meet the needs of aspiring internal quality assurers:
Not currently in an internal quality assurance role and looking to extend knowledge and understanding and extend competence in such a role.
This qualification will give candidates the opportunity to:
Achieve a nationally recognised qualification valued by employers
Develop skills and competence in the workplace and increases confidence
Develop the essential skills needed to work successfully for internal quality assurance
Develop the skills to manage their own performance and professional development
Improve employability and support progress into an internal quality assurance role
Programme Delivery
This qualification is regulated in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and provides learners with a wide range of knowledge and skills needed to develop teaching practice and develop competence and confidence in teaching.
This is a competence-based qualification and should be assessed in a realistic work environment in line with the relevant assessment strategy. To achieve the Level 4 Awards in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice a student must achieve a minimum of 18 credits by producing a portfolio of evidence.
Assessment plans and portfolio evidence will be assessed by a fully qualified and occupationally competent coach/assessor virtually on a one-to-one basis using a variety of methods and delivered flexibly according to the needs of the learner.
Portfolio evidence will then be internally quality assessed and externally certified by the Awarding Body NCFE.
